All funeral program templates are designed to be compatible with Word 2003/2007 for Windows, and Word 2008 for Macs. If you do not have Microsoft Word, do not fret, you can download a free 60 day trial.
After you have the funeral program template open it is time to start personalizing it. The way that the book fold template works is the first page is the outside of the program. The half with the photo is the front, and the half with the Acknowledgment, Poem, and Funeral Service information is the back. The second page will be the inside of the funeral program, and on this page you can edit the obituary, add a bible verse, and change the order of service to suit your needs.
Now that you understand how the formatting works, realize that it is really just 3 large text boxes, and one box for the front picture. These three text boxes are fully customizable. You can have any information you would like in any order. You can also change the font size and style to your preference.
Changing the picture is a very simple task. Simply right click the image and select "change the picture." From there you can use any picture you have saved on your computer. After you change the picture you can change its location by selecting the text box it is inside of. Move and stretch this text box so that it puts the picture in your preferred location.
You can also change the shape of the picture from square to oval or vice versa by selecting the picture and then in the top tool bar selecting "picture shape, " and selecting one of the many shape options.
Our book fold funeral programs are designed to be printed on a single page. You can do this with your standard inkjet or laser printer at home, or bring your completed file to a print shop. If you choose to do it at home, I recommend that you use "color printer paper."
In order to print I recommend using a test page. Just to make sure that you know how to print double sided. Print only the first page to start. You can do this by pushing "print", then selecting "pages" in the "page range" section. After you print the first page, put it back in the paper feeder upside-down and printing the second page. If this worked correctly, and you are happy with the result, I recommend doing the same process, but now printing 20 of the first page, flipping them over, and printing 20 of the second page on their backs. Repeat this until you have all of the funeral program templates you will need.
